Yuko Japanese Chemical Hair Straightening: The Process, Tips & Tricks

Getting a Yuko Japanese Chemical treatment is an investment. It is the one of the
best decisions you can ever make in your life when it comes to your hair.
Once you decide to go for a yuko the first thing is to get a consultation and a price quote.
The prices at Hair Creations start from £180. This all depends on your hair length and thickness. When you are getting yuko done for the first time, you must get your whole head done. Whenever you get a retouch it will be just the new growth. It takes between 4.5 and 5.5 hours for the yuko hair straightening process.

Before the process starts your hair is washed immediately regardless if you show up with washed hair or not.

What yuko does it changes the protein bonds in the follicle of your hair as well as the shaft of your hair which has scales on it.

When those scales are standing up, that’s when your hair is frizzy. The inside of the follicle Is what determines whether your hair Is curly or wavy, so you must change both the inside of the follicle and the shaft and the scales on the follicle for your hair to be straight and not frizzy.

This chemical is left on your hair between 20 minutes and 1 hour. It varies. Your hair is checked at intervals. An elastic test is done where they take a piece of hair and stretch it see how much it will stretch without breaking.

The more they can pull on your hair the more done it is. Your hair becomes very elastic whilst having the yuko treatment done. So once your hair is stretchy enough then the chemicals will be washed of your hair. Then they will blow dry it a little bit. They will leave in a bit of moisture in your hair though.

The next step is the most time consuming because your hair is straightened in very small sections for a numerous amount of times.
Once all the hairs are straightened, the neutraliser is applied. The neutraliser is left on the hair for approximately 5 minutes.

The next step is the stylist to wash of the neutraliser, blow dry the hair, then you are ready to go.

The neutraliser will continue to work until your first hair wash since getting the yuko treatment done.
The first 48 to 72 hours after getting the yuko chemical hair straightening are crucial because anything that happens to your hair within that time limit is permanent.

So, if you leave your tied back in a ponytail then that kink will be permanent. And if you leave your hair behind your ears that kink will also be permanent.

So that’s why it is so important to leave your hair in front and on the sides of your hair until your first results, If you can stick to this then you will be so happy with the results.

For the best results keep straightening your hair with the 48 to 72 hours. You cannot over straighten your hair within that time limit.
